If I remember correctly Dana (?) once mentioned the four glyphs light, ice, plants and fire are the "main" glyphs with which you can make any kind of magic form you want.

Even King also appears to have his own glyph of light at the end.

I missed a few because in one of the episodes you can see all the experimental glyphs including a sludge and petrification glyph on the ground
