For me, it’s how well they complete each other.

1. Amity was emotionally abused her whole life by her mother to be just like her, and thus lost her only real friendship and became a bully while desperately wishing she wasn’t. The nonstop kindness Luz showed her allowed her to break free from her mother’s grasp and live freely like she wanted

2. Luz never had any real friends and was rejected and made fun of by every person she had a crush on before coming to the Demon Realm. Therefore, I can only imagine how touched and overjoyed she was when Amity revealed her feelings for Luz. She never expected anyone to have a crush on her and care for her so deeply like that, especially from someone who not only was her type of person but also shared the same interests as her.

Both healed each other’s deep emotional wounds from the lonely and targeted lives they lived and needed each other to overcome their loneliness and bring happiness to their lives

I like how it realistically portrays a healthy couple. It doesn't do any toxic relationship bullshit that many live action disney channel shows fall into and it doesn't portray them as perfect. I mean realistically healthy in the sense that they are able the work through their flaws. It would have been extremely low hanging fruit to have Amity break up with Luz during the coven day or reaching out for lying and do the cliche bullshit of Luz doing something that wins her back, no, Luz and Amity actually take the time to try and understand each other's sides of the story and work through their issues.

Cute, wholesome, sweet, loving. What's not to love about it?
