I think it's mostly that titan magic just negates his race's magic, so that's probably why was able to trap king in that nightmare.

My headcanon was Collector magic can KILL Titans still but can't affect them in any way (meaning that Collector magic can only hsrm or kill them but cant transform or affect them in any othwr way) Plus I thought the whole "my powers don't work on King" meant that Collector magic can only hurt and kill them but do nothing else lol

So MAAAAAAAAYBE the only real canonical reason this happened that would work with my headcanon/what The Collector himself said is that King is still young so he isn't as immune to it yet (hence why despite the Titan magic thing he was still trapped in that nightmare)

For me that was always a plot hole.

We could also see before the "New Game" how The Collector uses his magic to bring King to himself etc. and I also thought why does his magic still work?

Yeah my theory is that it's either a massive plot hole or that King is still susceptible to certain Collector abilities due to being young still

I mean I feel like it makes zero sense that Collector's magic can affect a species that can cancel there's like those two contradict eadhother madly dont they?

If we ignore the version that King is too young and it's a plot hole I have two more theories:

1. Maybe The Collector can use other types of magic than Collector magic and this magic can also affect King - we know that witch magic works on King.

2. King didn't attack The Collector maybe stopping Collector magic only worked when King attacked.

Hol up why does the first theory make sense?

The first theory is that The Collector uses his Collector magic but since he knows it doesn't work he uses witch magic - he is a god-like being and could simply grow a bile sac.

Not a very serious theory but I find it funny and since "our" The Collector is the first to make friends with a Titan and also seem to know the witches a little he has more knowledge than the Archivists and it could work but please don't take it much seriously.

Honestly I do kinda see that and it does make sense

Although personally I find it stupid/really funny/hilarious that Titans are immune to magic from God's yet magic from mortals is fair game WHO WAS IN CHARGE OF BALANCING? XD
