I love the LGBTQ+ representation in The Owl House, which Lumity is also a part of, so much but so many plots were dropped and would have been more interesting than Lumity.

I've been shipping Luz x Amity since their duel and I also thought it was great that we saw Luz come out as bi but maybe they could have done the other Lumity things a bit more in the background.

Just my opinion and I respect any other opinion.

To be honest while the whole "ToH is basically the Lumity Show", "Lumity Takes over the Show" and "Amity has no character outside of Luz after Understanding Willow" are opinions I wholeheartedly disagree with, I am able to see where people who say that are coming from

Lumity was a romantic subplot the show could have easily done without. Much better use could have been made of Amity as a character had she not been hung as an albatross around Luz' neck.

It would’ve been just as good. TOH without Hooty, on the other hand…

I agree that when I think of unique characters from TOH Hooty is way ahead and I also know that he is the Owl House and I love his friendship with Lilith but I think everything would be possible without him too.

The Owl House would still be the Owl House because of Eda's owl curse form and Lumity could have happened without him too.

There were also scenes where he was very annoying - even the series characters were annoyed by him - and we have no information about his (back) story, which is why I find Hooty as he is now in the canon pretty boring/overrated.

I guess he could have been more interesting if we had seen more episodes but I don't judge something that isn't there and stick to the canon.

This is just my opinion on Hooty and other opinions are of course respected.

I think TOH was great all on it's own. Lumity just gave us a great ship to enjoy on top of it.
