I have mainly good views about this holiday but some others, not so much.

In recent years Veterans Day has been used as a marketing strategy for larger conglomerates as well as an excuse to “love America” instead of pay respects to those who served.

Like, you do realize that American soldiers aren’t the only ones who served their country? Not only that, veterans never really get what they actually deserve but are instead pushed under the rug by the government instead.

I’m not saying Veterans Day shouldn’t be celebrated. I fully support it IF the whole focus is sorely on the veterans ONLY, nothing else. Some actually do risk their lives for the greater sake of their people getting the lives that they want for them.

Too many people don’t ever see that anymore

@VeggieGoBrrrr Would the Marines and Coast Guard count as part of the Veterans? I have a cousin who served his four years in the Marines Corp and another cousin who was in the Coast Guard for a while.

Yeah.....i saw a veterans day parade today and sure, there were a lot of actual veterans day stuff but there were also a lot of brands with things that tbh seemed like using the day to promote their material

@VeggieGoBrrrr Thanks for letting me know that. Yet my cousins who served in those branches of the military. I should say they did their service long time ago but we still see them as serving our country and that it was a miracle they are still in one piece.
