I grew up with that cartoon and loved it. I'll admit, it a bit dark and pushing the envelope a bit. That show really kicks it.
I actually had interesting ideas for episodes to that show as time went on but I knew the ideas in mind were probably never going to see the light of day but the ideas in mind were fun to formulate.
This was back when Disney Channel wasn't afraid to take more risks in letting kids see cartoons with an edge. I know some Disney cartoons in recent years did the same thing as Gargoyles but it's not on the same level as Gargoyles because sure, cartoons like The Owl House, Amphibia, Gravity Falls, Star Vs. The Forces of Evil and other cartoons like them had their dark and edgy moments but Gargoyles took a few more risks than they did and they got to get away with more than people do today.
If the show came out five years ago. It wouldn't be like what it was back in the day when it came out when it did so I think we're glad it came out when it did because if it came out today or five years ago.
It would ether not see the light of day, get toned down too much, probably wouldn't get away with as much as it did when it aired, would probably be at risk of getting cancelled ( people don't tolerate as much today as they used to back then ) and the show probably wouldn't be as good as it was all them years ago if it came out today or five years ago.
So I'm glad it came out when it did and it had such a powerful cult following and impact on those who loved growing up with it.
