Amity is a lesbian, so if Luz was a trans guy, their relationship might...wilt.

That's a big might though, their relationship is fairly sturdy from what we can see, so Amity might not care, or maybe choose to overlook Luz's transness and still stay in the relationship even though Luz is a man.

I don't particularly like the idea that Luz being a certain gender identity is "better" than another, I think both concepts would be fun to explore (ie. in fanfic or roleplay) but neither is better. It's more so a matter of which a certain person would find more interesting.

I don’t think Luz should’ve been either. While I love trans/gay representation her character as a female was just fine.

Neither in my opinion

Neither would be "better." Non-binary and trans representation are both very important.

That said, Luz is a girl, so neither of them would have happened.

^Also Disney will throw a big ol' fit if they had to all one more queer character
