It has a lot of potential but more episodes are needed to flesh out the plot and characters. We still don't know enough about where the show is going to fairly evaluate it. Right now the show's biggest problem is The Owl House fandom that keeps framing the show as Dana's spite project against Disney.
This show is aimed squarely at adults who likely never saw The Owl House or even heard of it. Dana needs this project to stand out on its own merits if she hopes to have a career beyond Disney but The Owl House fandom isn't going to let that happen. They have a grudge against Disney and are projecting that grudge onto Dana. She will have no future as an animator if that is the only thing she's ever known for.
