There's no guarantee that Eda's curse will simply 'halt' the draining spell. Especially considering the last time her curse corrupted magic, it almost killed herself, Raine and Darius (although this might be bard magic-specific, considering the sigil she got is literally the bard sigil... yeah)
The Owl Beast was hunted down by the Collector before, so it could potentially react unpredictably to his presence. The worse part is that no one else knows about this (not even Eda, as she never realized the cloaked figure hunting down the Owl Beast is the Collector)
In general the CATs hardly acknowledge the Collector at all, which honestly seems to be a huge oversight that will come back to bite them (did Luz and co. even tell them about the Collector at all???)
