I think this post might have the most images of all these retrospective posts so far. I think I've got around 60, so... I apologize for the length. Just can't help myself sometimes.
Anyways, there's gonna be plenty of Lumity, Freddy Fazbear, jumpscares, and mentions of talking trains ahead, so let us begin with the madness!
Inspired by Lilith's words, Hooty figures it's about time he got a leading role in an episode.

Also, this room is supposed to be inside the big castle that sits behind the Owl House. Which is pretty cool, we never get to see inside there except this once, if I remember correctly... this is making me want a 3D reconstruction of the titular Owl House so I can EXPLORE it!
Also, notice how King has a chip on his horn (given to him offscreen after he made rude remarks about Hooty's mom). It's gone by the next episode. You could chalk this up to an error... or maybe it's just magic!

We finally meet Eda's dad: Dell Clawthorne. He is voiced by guest star Peter Gallagher, a veteran actor of film and TV. I actually first saw him in this miniseries about the Titanic from 1996 (no, not the James Cameron film from 1997... this was a TV miniseries that just so happened to come out the year before). The '96 Titanic miniseries was pretty bad but I liked him in it, so I liked hearing a familiar voice in this show.

Okay, but seriously though... Jesus Christ, that HAS to hurt like hell! Imagine experiencing one of your own eyeballs being poked out!
And here is our first look at the Collector... maybe? I'm inclined to believe it might be another Archivist. For one, this Archivist seems more mean-spirited than our Collector.
Also, this Archivist is pretty tall, so they're likely an adult. So unless that's just the Collector with a really long robe, I think that might be another Archivist. But don't quote me on that. What do you think?

Hooty, what you're doing for Luz and Amity is really sweet, but I don't think it necessitates BRINGING TO LIFE THE HORRORS OF FAZBEAR ENTERTAINMENT!

Now, Hooty turning his Tunnel of Love into Fazbear's Fright aside, it's honestly a bit sad seeing how Luz unintentionally ruins the whole thing for herself because she's afraid of how Amity may react (even though Amity really likes it). She says earlier in the episode that everyone in the human realm thought she was "cheesy". She's probably been rejected before, and it's honestly sad seeing how being ostracized by her peers in the human realm has affected her personality. I certainly feel the same way sometimes.

Here it is... the big moment. Big step for both of their character journeys. They're both so silly... truly perfect for each other.
And amongst the fandom... there was much rejoicing.
This was everyone's reaction. Even for me, it really does warm the void where my heart would be if I had one.

Also, immediately after, Hooty says that he was told never to help anyone ever again... probably for the best. I mean, you can't deny the results... but the methods in achieving them... yeah, not again.

Good thing he just accidentally swallows the whole thing after trying to eat a bug that was on it. Best save that for a later episode.

We see his face at last... and I think I've seen enough.
Also, at the beginning of this episode, we see a book that lists the ingredients for making a grimwalker... probably nothing important!
He also tells Hunter he's been to the human realm before and that he looks forward to seeing it again... technically true, only he didn't mention the part of him being FROM the human realm.
Notice how Philip Wittebane has some more stubble on his face. He was clean-shaven the last time we saw his silhouette in "Through the Looking Glass Ruins". He's been here a while now. Nothing too important, just a detail I thought was interesting.
Hunter, the "bad but sad boy", as Luz calls him, is once again sad, because everyone finds his voice annoying.
Philip writes in his diary that he was the only member of his party to escape a collapsing vein full of fools' blood. But given how it's later revealed how unreliable of a narrator Philip is in his journals... who's to say what's fabricated and what isn't? There'd be no witnesses to his companions' deaths, after all...
"BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" says Hunter, riding away in a Troublesome Truck.
And then the truck crashes into a mine wall-
Oh wait... wrong episode... wrong show, for that matter.
And now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Anyways... I think with every passing episode she's in, Kikimora's sanity continues to degrade as she goes mad with power.
Gotta love how she throws a child into a ravine without hesitation... respect.

Things worked out well for both Hunter and Amity... he can return to Belos with a portal key that has SOME Titan's blood left, while Amity brings some back on the glove she crushed the portal key with. And this Titan's-bloodstained glove will be useful in later episodes. I believe the proper term is "Chekhov's Gun"... an item in a work of fiction that ends up being useful to the plot later down the line.
Flapjack tells Hunter his name. And one day the little guy will give up his life for Hunter... nope, can't think about that right now.
Our first glimpse at Manny Noceda.
Luz tells herself to take a deep breath and count to five... but with her utterance of the word "five", she unknowingly summons a portal cube to "Number Five"... Vee.
And we finally, REALLY meet Vee. Don't know how obvious this fact will be to you all, but she's called Vee because she's "Number Five", and the Roman numeral for five is "V". Roman numerals are fun, I've been using them to number these posts just because I can!
Anyway, I've said this before, but I find it funny how Luz's impostor seemed so threatening beforehand, but now we realize that it's just... well, it's Vee!
Eda went under the alias of "Marylin" in the human realm... pretty insignificant detail... unless you're a Gravity Falls fan, as Stan Pines had an ex-wife named Marylin.
The idea of Eda and Stan being exes honestly just works so well.
Eda's hexed croissants gave rats sentience? Must have been a scrapped plot for Ratatouille.
Ironically, Vee seems to be much better at making friends with humans than Luz. The way Luz seems scared of how the teenagers will treat Vee seems to once again show just how ostracized the poor girl was in the human realm. Once again... can relate, don't like talking to people either.
Also our first time seeing Masha, who tells Vee they got the Hex'es Hold-'Em cards from the Gravesfield Historical Society, where they'll be working come Season 3.
Luz also mentions that Eda gave up cards. Likely she quit her gambling after nearly losing King to Tibbles that one time.
I hate you.
Jacob's surname, Hopkins, is likely in reference to the real-life witch hunter Matthew Hopkins, who called himself the "Witch-Finder General". He served as a source of inspiration for the fictional Belos.
Vee encountering the talking rats earlier wasn't scary for her just because they were talking rats... it's because she has painful memories involving rats.
Vee meets Camila for the first time. She tells Luz that she can't understand why she would want to run away from a life that seems so good to her, even saying she resents her for running away, but at the same time, is also grateful.
Vee honestly makes a good point... at the very least, Luz had a caring mother. Sometimes it's hard to focus on the bad things instead of looking on the bright side of life. But to be fair to Luz, she didn't plan on being stuck in the Boiling Isles with no means of return to the human realm.

Jacob Hopkins claims to have found out the truth about demons and witches after having watched videos on "MewTube"... yep, watching crackheads on the internet will do that to ya.

PFFT- HE'S A MEMBER OF THE FLAT EARTH SOCIETY! IT'S TOO PERFECT!
I wonder if he ever just... stops and looks at himself in the mirror and questions what he's doing with his life.
Honestly... he found out the demon realm was real after encountering Eda's cursed form, and now he's seen another demon up close... but he's so insane that absolutely no one is going to believe him. A bit sad, really, but then again, he's made his choices in life, and now he must live with them.
Also, he assumes Camila was sent to him from the President of the United States... sure, buddy, if that'll soothe your ego.
LA CHANCLA!
Honestly... imagine being in Camila's shoes here. You've just found out your daughter has been living in the freaking DEMON REALM for several months now, and who you thought was your daughter was really an impostor seeking refuge. That really has got to be a lot to take in.
It's also heartbreaking when Luz accidentally lets slip that she decided to stay in the demon realm, and Camila wonders if she did anything to push her away. Like Vee said earlier, Luz at the very least had a mother who loved her very much back in the human realm. She never really realized what she had until she had lost it. And the fact that Camila still considers Vee her "child" after all of this really says a lot about who she is.
Just... this whole scene is very sad. I mean, I have ZERO parenting skills, but I can still understand Camila's pain when she fears that she may have pushed her daughter away and thus resulted in her being trapped in the demon realm.
Honestly... respect to Camila, she really is one of the greatest mothers I've ever known, in fiction or real life.
And... on that note... that at last ends today's post. I think I'll take a break tomorrow before starting Season 2B, as making these takes a long time. But if you enjoyed this, please be sure to reply with anything you enjoyed or thought was interesting!

Are there dogs in the Demon Realm?
I think Hunter called King a dog in "Eclipse Lake," which would imply that they do exist in the Demon Realm... or how else would he know about them?
Maybe Phillip and Caleb brought dogs with them when the came to the Boiling Isles??
Or maybe Hunter just read about dogs in a book?
Just a thought.
(Also, I'm kind of laughing at myself for the title I chose for this post! Lol!)
Amity Blight is a fascinating character. Out of the Season 1 characters, she has a really good arc: going from a mean girl jerk, a closed off bully, to a uneasy person, to a actual good person and friends.
And the story of her character is pretty cool as we spoon learn about more of her character. We got to see more of her family life and how shes acts. And after slowly becoming friends with Luz, she learns to become a better person, even fixing her friendship with Willow.
She has a really good redemption and could have become a really great character to the fandom, a person who stands for standing up to people, giving other seconds chances and being an all round encouraging and kind person. She could have set a real great example and helped other into becoming the best versions of themselves, just as Luz did for her before.
Then “Enchanting Grom Fright” and “Wing It Like Witches” comes along, and quite completely ruins it. All the character Amity has around Luz is completely replaced with her being head over heels in love with her. The only thing that stayed consistent is that she isn't a bad guy anymore and her whole world suddenly revolves around his random human. Boscha also pissed me off a bit, (the whole "Wow. Sports" thing was just annoying and tedious), and Knock, Knock, Knocking on Hooty’s door pissed me up aLOT. In this episode, Amity is just relegated to a plot device that Hooty gets to smash Luz with. She is just a goal for Luz in the episode, and in “Eclipse Lake”, Amity’s character is being paranoid about Luz dumping her if she fails (yeah I know Luz wasn't gonna dump her, but still).
The only good Season 2 episode that Amity has an arc is “Reaching Out”, where we actually see her have development independent from Luz. And Clouds on the horizon (Despite everyone seeing only the Lumity Kiss and nothing else), also has good Amity Moments as well. But that happens not too often.
But do I hate Lumity? No! It's so adorable. Like, I dare you to say one horrible thing about Lumity. Their interactions are charming and their fan art and comics are even better. And it is important for LGBT representation in programming.
But Luz x Amity style comes at a cost.
It's so sad that a good majority of people see Amity as just a gay panic abomination maker, which sucks as she could have been so much more than that.
But no. She's just Luz Girlfriend. And that's it.
But don't worry. There are still thousands of fans who love Amity completely absent of Luz. But I fear that with more gay panic and cuddly moments for Lumity, Amity will only appear at first glance to be one thing: In Love.
You know, If I had a nickel every time a brunette just became the love interest of somebody despite having potential,
I'd have two nickels.
Which would be how much I would get if I traded in Magna Charge at Cex!
Do you wish Amity Blight and Hunter got to spend more time bonding with each other? You know, since they both have a lot in common.

My favorite episodes of the show might be the three last, Eclipse Lake, Agony Of A Witch, Echoes Of The Past, Eda's Requiem, Reaching Out, Hollow Mind, O Titan Where Art Thou, Clouds On The Horizona and King's Tide.
As you can see, I'm very indecisive.

I think Eclipse Lake honestly wasnt that enjoyable of an episode, and was one of the weakest from s2
It was important from a lore standpoint but in terms of enjoying the episode, it was not great.
