Personally, I think that it was a little underwhelming that Amity bonded with her palisman, Ghost, offscreen before Eclipse Lake, where she just kind of appears out of nowhere. We do get a scene of her recounting how she bonded with her in FTF, and it’s still a good scene by itself, but I still kind of wish that it was actually shown, especially since we don’t even know if Amity either carved Ghost herself or adopted her from the Bat Queen like most of the others.
At most, Amity says that she was handed a staff and that Ghost wouldn’t move until she admitted that she wants to choose her own path, which honestly sounds just slightly too vague to give us a definitive answer. I’ve seen people argue in favour of Amity having carved Ghost herself by suggesting that Odalia may not have wanted her to have a “hand-me-down” palisman and that, due to their wealth, her family may have had easier access to palistrom wood. While that feels like more of a head-canon to me, I will admit that it may be more plausible for Amity to have carved Ghost herself, based on the flow of events from Hunting Palismen to Eclipse Lake. However, I think that Amity having adopted from the Bat Queen (or even another owner) could have been equally interesting.
I’ve mentioned this in another post, so I won’t get bogged down with too much detail, but one of my main ideas for a story that I’m currently working on is for it to have a new villain who serves as a dark foil to Amity, essentially being what she could have been if she never found her own identity and fully embraced her family’s ideals. I’ll eventually get around to posting all of my ideas for them but one idea that I’ve heavily considered for their backstory (though one that I’m unsure if I‘ll ultimately use) is that they could have been Ghost’s original owner before Amity, with this taking place in a flashback, potentially during Hunting Palismen. This new character could have gotten Ghost from Hexside and tried to bond with her, but to no avail. This could lead to Ghost running away, with the new character chasing after her and running into Amity, who could offer to help them find their palisman, since she may relate to their struggle of expressing their deepest wish. The scene could end with an onscreen moment of Amity finally coming to terms with the fact that she doesn’t really want to join the Emperor’s Coven and wants to choose her own path, which leads to Ghost choosing to bond with her instead, as the new character would have failed to show any conviction in expressing their wish to follow their family’s goals (as well as quite possibly being an uncaring owner too, with them viewing Ghost as just their property and not as an independent being in her own right). Ghost choosing Amity as her new owner could even be a parallel to Amity realising that she wants to chose her own path. An idea that I’ve thought of that could combine both perspectives (as well as avoid technically contradicting FTF) is that the episode could start with Amity actually carving her own palisman, as per her mother’s request, and trying and failing to bond with it throughout. However, Amity’s inanimate palisman could eventually get destroyed when, after having betrayed her earlier, the new character could crush it underfoot out of spite (even mockingly dismissing it as an accident, as a parallel to Amity squashing King’s cupcake in Covention), leaving Ghost free to bond with her.
I apologise if I’ve derailed this post somewhat, so I’ll end my ideas section there (though I can still elaborate on them in the comments if anybody is interested) and get back to the point of this post. From an in-universe standpoint, I think that it makes the most sense for Amity to have carved Ghost herself. However, I personally prefer the idea of her having adopted her from somebody else, and I just wished that it was explored more either way. But what do you think?

I did some lil sketches of a few palismen! I think I did the best job on Stringbean, I'm proud of the shading I did on that sketch. This was actually the first time I was able to really draw a cat well, so that was nice! I also enjoyed doing Waffle's patterns. (I will move on to humans one day...)
Well, as far as I’m aware. Her paws and tail sticking out, but other than that, she’s a loaf
