I am back once again! Expect at least one of these every day, because I try to do them after every rewatch session. I like to take it slow, though, so usually I only watch about 3 or 4 episodes at a time.
Anyways, let's continue...
We see Acne Kid here being given a coven sigil, and Eda remarks that from then on he'll be only able to do one type of magic. A fun callback in the epilogue is that we see this same kid (who still has acne) having his sigil successfully removed.
"Wow! I have failed you as a principal!"

And to think... THIS was our introduction to Lilith Clawthorne.
At one point in the episode (I didn't see an image for it in the episode gallery), there is a booth that appears in the background for the "Carnivorous Plant Coven". The banner noticeably has a bite mark out of it and what's more, no one is manning the booth... yikes.
IT'S THAT GODDAMN CUPCAKE!
These two have changed so much... I can't even recognize them like this. WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?
Towards the end of the episode, after Lilith and Eda have their duel, Eda grimly tells her sister that the curse is getting worse, and that she wanted to see her sister for what might be the last time... and then she throws a bag of Hex Mix in Lilith's face and runs off laughing. Since I hadn't seen this episode in a while, Eda even had ME fooled at first.
Egg travel... still cleaner than most public transportation.
I hate you.
"Capitalism! Where everyone wins... except you!"
Speaking of, Tibbles being a pig-like demon might be a reference to the old term "capitalist pig". He also reminds me a lot of the book Animal Farm by George Orwell and its own evil pigs, namely the dictator Napoleon, or the propagandist Squealer.
"I'M AN ACQUIRED TASTE, HOOT HOOT!"
Also, this episode made me wonder... does Hooty ALWAYS have those legs underneath the house? He truly is a horrifyingly wonderful creature.
This is Tom. Everyone, say hi to Tom. His dream since he was a boy is to throw children off cliffs. He was a strange child.
At the beginning of "Lost in Language", Eda says that witches eating babies is "so 1693", in reference to the year that the Salem Witch Trials occurred.
"GOODBYE MISS AMITY, THANK YOU!"
Braxas is one of my favorite background characters, the demon toddler with the horrifyingly deep voice. He's also the son of Warden Wrath.
The Blight twins' teasing has drained the sanity out of this poor man. Now he's wondering if his own life is but fiction... he knows too much!
Luz tries (and fails) to save the day while dressed up like Azura. Come Season 3, and she actually DOES save the entire Boiling Isles while wearing her Azura Halloween costume.
And the episode ends with Luz and Amity starting to work through their differences. Will they become friends? Will they become MORE than friends? You already know the answer to that, silly! No refunds!
