Season 3

I think enough time has passed to admit that Amity Blight is actually the unsung hero in the three specials of The Owl House. I know that may sound weird for me to say but I remember back when so-called Season 3 was happening when people were saying that Amity was completely pushed to the side during the final few episodes and reduced to a background character.

I disagree with that statement fully because Amity did so much in the specials to be considered a background character. Think about it, she found the rebus that lead to the Titan's blood, was the group leader while Luz dealing with the guilt and fear of being rejected by her and everyone else because of unintentionally helping Belos meet the Collector, confronts Boscha and pleads with her to rise up against Kikimora, give Luz the light glyph to wake up from her nightmare, create the light glyph in her puppet form in order to wake up, and of course... offer her hand to the Collector in kindness after the final battle.

So yeah, in my opinion, Amity's role in three specials is actually pivotal to the story. In fact, she did much more in these specials comparing to Gus and Lilith.

When it was cut short, Dana and the gang scrapped everything they already had made and then rewrote the entire second half of season 2 going forward to accommodate for the show's shortening. The three-part series finale television movie was a completely new thing with several unused ideas from the unmade actual season 3 to create the plots of all three parts.

SO MUCH HAPPENED OMG!!! It was so cool, so much happened. Well obviously pretty much everyone knows how the finale went, but I'm just sharing my opinion because why not. The Collector is so cute!!! It was full of so much plot twists and unexpected things. It was a really good finale and I would definitely rewatch the 3 parts again at some point.

Disclaimer: I am not discussing WHY this happened, and I am also not defending Disney for it. I am just giving my thoughts. AND I'm saying that it helped a little. If you disagree, please don't harass me in the comments. So like, chill bro.

Since people are still mad over this, I’m gonna take the Mic over and give my opinion.

I think this shortening…actually benefited the show a bit.

Now before you rear your pitchforks and knives, I will admit that the Owl House not getting a third season is really stpuid. It's a great show that deserves all the love it gets and the fact that they just angered the fans is just wrong Disney. Really.

But I am gonna say that…this actually benefited it a little.

Now as we begin, I will direct you to Amphibia Season 3. Just to recap (Spoilers! says River Song), Sasha and Grime have betrayed the heroes and tried to get the toad army to destroy Newtopia, only for Anne and the planters to stop them. However, when she gives the box to andrias and long story short she becomes super saiyan, she gets backstabbed by Marcy and Marcy gets literal backstabbed by andrias and the Planters and Anne get marooned on earth.

This changes everything. After so much filler and pointless kiddy stuff, Amphibia finally get some major story beats They can't WAIT to see what Season 3 is like-

It’s just the Planters and Anne screwing around on Earth. Okay that's lame.

Sure we get still get the story progressed, but the tone for Season 3 is JUST like the first season, and considering the cliffhanger “True Colours” left us on, that is NOT a good sign, and just another indication of how Amphibia is the weakest of the Trio containing it, Gravity Falls and the Owl House. And the problem I think “Thanks to Them” exacerbates in the opening montage before the Logo.

The biggest reason a lot of people hate about the shortening is that we never got full filler episodes of the Hexsquad just hanging out in the human realm or at least full episodes of the brief scenes we saw in the montage, but personally, I’m okay with it. I mean, how can I enjoy the main characters hanging out and wasting precious time as their friends and family are suffering at the hands of the Collector? If they did, they would have been completely ignorant. And given how The Owl House has 22 minute episodes and not 10 minutes the problem may have been every worse.

And now for my second point, what do we really lose from the time being shortened? Caleb and Evalyn’s story? More info on the Archivists? That would be great! But I feel like most people by now know the full story. Caleb met Evalyn who was a clawthorne, they went to the isles to start a life, Belos followed, found out about the love and killed his brother. It's pretty self explanatory for longtime fans. Although more info on the Archivists would have been amazing, I wanna know what happened as well. Then again, that could just be left up to our interpretation, see here for more information!

But to finish I will admit that the Owl House SHOULD have gotten a full Season 3. If LEGO NInjago: Masters of Spinjitzu could get 15 Seasons (and 2 Specials) and Doctor Who could get over 40 seasons over 60 years (except the 90 and early 2000s), the Owl House SHOULD have gotten a full Season 3, and maybe Disney couldn’t have been hated more as it is now. And we could have at least to have solid proof that Huntlow is canon (Huntlow is cool, but I prefer Miss Heed personally).

But as I take off (literally i’m getting into a plane) I say this: Sometimes shortening things CAN work. And if something unexpected like this happens, you can do your best to make of a bad situation.

But the worst part is that we never got the Morditwi Wedding scene PRIMUS DAMN IT

I recently re-watched "Watching and Dreaming," and was inspired to make fanart for the episode.

How does everyone have such cool character designs?? I love them!

I kinda wanted to make this look like promo art... Originally I was going to try to fit all of the important characters into it, but that would probably have been INSANE.

This is definitely one of my most favorite episodes! ^U^
