Don't know what that model in particular goes for, but I doubt it's a scam -- some common models can go for as low as 20 bucks on the regular, and 45 is still bound to be a fairly good deal for a rare one!
A lot of people price theirs at 100 or higher, but it's usually out of not knowing the true value/trying to milk the vintage status, not actual worth -- so if something seems too high, you might just need to wait a few days and check back, because fair ones tend to pop up!
(also I got both of mine off eBay and they came exactly as advertised -- eBay is known for having lots of protection in case someone is selling something dishonestly, so I wouldn't worry it about it as a platform!)

Red ones can be fairly hard to find given their generations, but I have absolutely nothing to do ever, so if you decide on a few models you'd be interested in looking into, let me know and I'll keep an eye out for you!

I did, yeah!! Super fun and challenging, definitely don't try it if you don't know anyone that can sew (but I CAN recommend furbys in general... I love being able to look up from my pillow and see two pairs of eyes vaguely looking in my direction)
