It's true, the show wasn't trying to go for full-on LGBT+ rep (although it is admirable that it presented them enough to gain a following in the LGBT+ community) because that would be straight-up pandering. At the end of the day, a show is a show, however, whether people will like it or not comes down to their preference. Here, the show knew what it wanted to do; it had a story it wanted to tell. There are going to be flaws and there are going to be problems, but it's not a story if it defined itself by focus groups and demographics. Plus, shows don't reach out to people automatically by their entertainment value, either. Nothing is going to every appeal to the universal audience anyhow, and creating a show purely for said attention hurts it even further, if it means the sacrifice of the story or message they were going for.

@Hawas1983 if you disagree, you can simply say you disagree, especially if there is no prompting for lengthy responses.

@RadicalPatMan as your post came across as unforthcoming and potentially impolite, it has been removed. Remember, you can be constructive without reacting critically to another user.

@Hawas1983 I know you just got back and you have your own opinions, so please remember that we all share a public space. Even if you don't agree with other people, how the show had a positive effect on everyone matters just as much as the negatives. Try to see from their point of view and look for common ground. Also, please keep your criticism of Dana Terrace to a minimum - it is one thing to criticize how a show should have been handled, it is another thing to use discussions to disparage real-life people who have not offended you in any way. At the end of the day, it was the creator's show and they get to decide how it went. Criticizing them for what happened is just as unfair as the production constraints they had no control over to try to get their story through. It is no one's place to decide what that creator's work should be.

Everyone else, likewise, remember to practice friendly conduct in this discussion. You don't need to reply if you don't feel comfortable, but don't feel pressured to keep quiet if the case. Feel free to mesage me or staff anytime.

Hi everyone. As this has been an ongoing issue as of late, please remember to treat discussions civilly and clarify what proper conduct should be if the topic is a layered issue. And if the post is low effort to begin with, please report this first beforehand; even then, it is never a good idea to argue over nothing as it makes the post harrowing for people who wish to have a peaceful conversation. Given this post's topic is both low-effort and disputing in nature, it should have been reported first, but it's too late now. That said, I will be locking this post; for those who continued this behavior, a block will be issued.

If we encounter a disagreement in the future and a resolution can't be reached, please report it to a mod or admin. Telling someone they are wrong or calling them names is not behavior we as a fandom should not, can not, and must not engage in. We can all have our own opinion and respect others for having a different one, without arguing about who is right.

Due to the contentious and controversial nature of political topics, please do not advertise website links about international affairs. Please show support in websites that will accomplish what you hope to achieve. Posting it on a Fandom site about a fictional cartoon will get us nowhere and it will only bring dispute as well as assumptions brought about by picking-choosing sides.

There are ways conflict can be resolved and how to help victims of a war, simplifying it down to blaming one another is not one of them.

Hi, as mentioned above, learning about demonology isn't going to turn kids to do things. There are many ways in which these subjects are weaved into modern fiction, but the subject itself isn't automatically bad or vile, especially since it's an adaptation. Creators are free to tell it however they want, plus they're merely inspired by the work. It's no different from reading about Greek mythology and then watching the Disney version - one will know the stuff, but won't be sacrificing goats anytime soon.

That said, the responsibility falls on the parents, whether they find it helpful for kids to know and learn more about it via adaptation is on them. Conversely, keeping them closed on the subject means they won't learn about what it means and why it's considered "bad". For those who are sensitive or don't like the topic, that's understandable, and your preference is valid. Just note that no one is the final word for anyone else, and being something you don't personally like doesn't mean it must be taken personally. Think first before judgement.

If this discussion becomes hostile or argumentative, the thread will be locked. Remember, you guys can discuss civilly about a carefree cartoon without any label.

Hi guys, I don't wish to interrupt, but given how this post has become, it's time we close the matter. If you don't agree, then you don't agree. There is no reason to drag a point as it's not respect, at all, to the other person's feelings by writing everything down in paragraphs just to say no. Remember, if we all agreed on something, then we'd have nothing to talk about, and to disagree means accepting no one has to be right to get along.

Hi guys, talk about fictional crushes is one thing, but talking about a personal friend's parent and having an interest in them borders the line between joking and being serious to real life. Especially given that there is an age gap, and is not something one would actually bring up to said person. That said, be mindful about what you would say and hear and try to avoid talking about real life subjects.

Why I want this right? I have been representative for a long time on this site, and I've watched it grow into a lustrous, successful database. Since I no longer have a full capacity as global staff, I still seek to still help this wiki however I can, in the absence of RedBall and of fellow staff who've worked hard to become the people they are today. I have many skills underneath my belt, such as negotiation, wikitext, the understanding of the rules, and more. Although, to execute these requires me to become admin, and I will use these tools to aid my associates as I have before, in order to alleviate the burden, and continue to manage the community to a prosperous state.
