While I disagree with the idea that Amity gets reduced to just “Luz’s girlfriend”, I’m still kind of curious as to what would happen if this was hypothetically addressed in an actual plot for the show. I know that some people might suggest that it could be about Amity being too dependent on Luz, with the other characters (including Luz herself) getting tired of it, and Amity eventually learning to find other interests outside of their relationship. However, I think that it could be more interesting if it was actually the other way around.

I’ve already discussed this as part of another post going through some of my fanfic ideas, so I’ll keep this fairly brief. My idea for this is that, at a time when she’s still unsure of what she wants to be, Amity could become worried and frustrated that others seem to think of her as just Luz’s girlfriend or that she changed just for her, even if no one actually does. This could lead to Amity having an identity crisis that she’ll never be anything more than an extension of somebody else (whether that be her mother or Luz) and being desperate to prove her individuality to others and to herself.

As for how this would affect her relationship with Luz, I think that it could lead to Amity gradually becoming distant from her. After a point when her identity crisis has really gotten to her, this could even lead to an argument between them, with Amity snapping at Luz that she doesn’t want her help or even partially accusing her of only valuing her as her girlfriend (albeit mostly just projecting her own frustrations about herself), though she would almost immediately regret this. It could even lead to them putting their relationship on hold for a time (but not outright breaking-up), with them eventually reconciling at the end after Amity has gotten over her identity crisis and found what she wants to be.

But what do you think? If this take was to be addressed, how would you prefer it to be done?

Something minor that stood out as strange to me is that Lilith’s palisman is never actually named in any official capacity. The closest that we have to an official name for them comes from the Season 2 finale post-hoot, where Dana Terrace refers to them as “Mike Socks”, although this was likely more of a joke answer than a serious one. I know that it’s not really that important but I still kind of wish that we got an official name for Lilith’s palisman.

Despite that, I actually kind of like the name “Mike Socks” or even just “Mike” for them, mainly because I think that it would be funny if they just had an ordinary name, whereas all of the other palismen have more fantastical or just unusual names (like Owlbert or Ghost, for example), similarly to Bill from the episode “Edge of the World”.

But what do you think? Do you like this name for Lilith’s palisman or do you prefer to call them something else instead?

More of my fan-fiction ideas again…

Since my fanfic will partially revolve around Amity struggling with the lingering effects of her mother’s mental abuse, one way that I’ve thought of to convey this is for Amity to have somewhat of a phobia of oracle magic. Due to her mother having primarily used it to invade her mind and emotionally manipulate her for most of her life, I could see this perhaps leading to Amity being fearful of it being used on her again or being averse to the idea of it in general.

I don’t know if this would necessarily lead to Amity being somewhat prejudiced or distrustful of oracle witches themselves, but I could probably still see her acting somewhat uncomfortable around them. In fact, when creating a new character who serves as a rival for Amity in this story, I decided to make them an oracle for this reason, though I think that it would also be a good idea to have her interact with some good-natured oracles to help her overcome this.

When it comes to Amity overcoming this fear, one way that I’ve considered is for to her to have to use oracle magic herself in some way. Perhaps, she could initially try early on but panic and withdraw from it, but try again later and successfully overcome her fear. While I can’t really see Amity regularly using oracle magic afterwards, I think that she’d likely be less averse to it.

As a quick side note, while not as prominent, I’ve also come up with the idea of Amity having a slight aversion to the colour green, mainly due to it having a lot of negative connotations surrounding her character (her mother, her old bully persona, etc). Since my fanfic will also have a brief scene of Amity trying out different tracks at Hexside, I think that this could be a good place to set up both of these fears, with her actively avoiding the oracle track or acting visibly uncomfortable when the plant track’s colours get added to her uniform.

But what do you think? Could you see Amity having a phobia of oracle magic or even the colour green?

This is mainly in regards to how their relationship is written in the show itself, so this isn’t taking fanon into account. I’ve also disqualified pacing just because that’s probably the most common criticism levied against Lumity and I just wanted to see if anybody had anything different.

Personally, even though I usually dislike romance plots, I don’t really have any major problems with Luz and Amity’s relationship. I think that it’s decently well-paced, I enjoy watching their interactions with each other, and I appreciate that they manage to avoid some of the more frustrating romance tropes (i.e. they actually communicate and work through their problems together). However, I do admittedly have some minor nitpicks with their relationship, but nothing major.

In Luz’s case, I kind of wish that we saw just a little bit more affection from her after their relationship begins, as her hiding her problems from Amity admittedly begins to overstay its welcome a little bit by Season 3. I admit that it may feel slightly unfair to criticise this, given the circumstances of Luz’s arc at this point in the show (and there’s even a nice bit of symmetry with Luz helping Amity in Season 1 and then their roles reverse from Season 2 and onwards), but I still wish that she showed a bit more affection towards Amity to balance it out a little.

In Amity‘s case, while I heavily disagree with the idea that she gets reduced to just “Luz’s girlfriend”, I will admit that ‘Wing It Like Witches’ is the one episode where I feel that it’s somewhat warranted. I just think that the episode plays a bit too much into Amity’s crush on Luz and I personally would have preferred if it focused more on her dynamic with Willow instead, especially after ‘Understanding Willow’.

Then again, these are just some relatively minor nitpicks that I have and I still think that Lumity is a very well written relationship. But what do you think?

One criticism that I’ve occasionally seen levied against Lumity is that their relationship feels less mutual from Luz’s side than from Amity’s. The point that I’ve seen used most often for this argument is that Luz repeatedly lies and hides her problems from Amity during their relationship. However, I’ve also seen some try to argue that, because Luz compared her attempts to befriend Amity to Azura and Hecate in her books (coupled with her difficulty to distinguish fantasy from reality in Season 1), she merely views her as part of her fantasy without genuinely caring about her.

Personally, I disagree with both of these points. As for the first point, while Luz does hide her problems from Amity, it’s never out of malice and she owns up to her mistakes each time. Additionally, I think that this point tends to leave out most of Luz’s own problems. It especially irks me when people try to use Season 3 as an example of it, but that’s a whole other can of worms not just related to Lumity. As for the second point, I feel like people who use this tend to miss the point of Luz’s development, as she learns to see her friends in the Demon Realm as real people and not just fantasy. In fact, the entire point of Eclipse Lake was that Luz would have been happy for Amity regardless of whether or not she succeeded. However, admittedly, I do kind of wish that we got a little bit more of Luz showing affection towards Amity during their relationship.

As a quick side note, while still thinking of ideas for a fanfic, one idea that I’ve considered is for Luz to actually worry if she hasn’t been a good girlfriend to Amity and perhaps wind up going a bit overboard with trying to prove her love her. However, coupled with Amity going through her own problems, this could instead wind up straining their relationship for a brief time. That said, since this story would be focused more on Amity than Luz, I’m unsure if I’ll ultimately wind up using this.

But what do you think? Could Lumity be more mutual from Luz’s side or is it fine the way that it is?

Since the Collector is technically the only proper onscreen representation of their species (there is still the other Collector seen in KKKOHD but we don’t actually see their face), it got me wondering as to whether they represent what all Collectors look like by default or if they would still have their own unique appearances. Specifically, would all Collectors have traits like red eyes, white hair, and facial tattoos in the same positions?

As a side note, I also got this idea because, in a fanfic that I’m working on, I decided to have a character briefly gain a Collector form similar to Titan Luz. When imagining their design, I decided to have them gain some of “our” Collector’s physical traits (red eyes, white hair, etc.), based on the assumption that they represent what Collectors look like by default.

As that might imply, I personally think that other Collectors might still resemble “our” Collector in those ways to some degree, but I could definitely see some of them at least having different coloured eyes. But what do you think?

While coming up with a new character as the main villain for a fanfic, I decided to make them an oracle witch, and one of the reasons for this was because I felt that oracle magic was one of the least explored forms of magic in the show and it could be interesting to explore it more by having a major character use it. I’ve thought of a few headcanons for oracle magic that I’ll be using in my fanfic and I just wanted to quickly share them with you.

In terms of new abilities, I’ve decided to focus more on its nature as a mind-based form of magic. Perhaps my biggest headcanon is that oracle magic can be used to outright read somebody’s mind, both their thoughts and memories. I’ll admit that this one’s a bit more in service of the actual character themself, but I do still think that it could fit with the magic’s more shady nature (As a side note, while my fanfic doesn’t really focus on the fortune-telling aspect of oracle magic too much, I do have an idea that this could also potentially serve a role in it, with oracles perhaps using a person’s thoughts and memories to predict their future).

Another ability that I’ve thought of is oracle magic being used to cast illusions but, to differentiate it from illusion magic, they can only be perceived by a specific target at a time. I’ve also thought of oracles being able to assume powered-up forms, akin to Darius’ abomination form, with them taking on a shadowy appearance and having enhanced versions of their normal abilities. However, I’m not sure if I’ll actually use it for the new character in my fanfic, as I already have plans for them to receive another specific super form and it might be somewhat redundant for them to have two of them.

As another side note, since this new character also has a magic amplifier, then that could perhaps serve  as an explanation for any of these new abilities if they seem to be too at odds with the magic’s depiction in the show.

Since I thought it could be interesting to also explore how it’s viewed within the show’s universe itself, I’ve also come up with the idea that there could be some slight prejudice against oracles, with them occasionally being viewed as deceitful or opportunistic. With this new character being a villainous oracle themself, they would only exemplify this idea, so it would be a good idea to also show some examples of good-natured oracles to balance them out.

Lastly, this is technically more of an Amity headcanon than specifically an oracle magic one, but I felt that it would fit in with the previous one. Due to her past experiences with it, I think that it could be interesting if Amity had a phobia of oracle magic that she had to overcome after breaking free of her mother, with her initially being nervous or uncomfortable around anyone who uses it. Since Amity is the main character of my fanfic, this is one of the reasons why I decided to make the new villain an oracle witch, with them both literally and figuratively bringing back painful memories for her. If I do also introduce another character as a good-natured oracle, then it could make sense for Amity to initially distrust them before warming up to them. Additionally, I’ve also considered having Amity overcome this fear of oracle magic by being forced to use it to defeat the new villain, even if I can’t really see her using it again afterwards.

But those are just some of my own headcanons regarding oracle magic. Feel free to discuss any of your own, whether they be related to its abilities, history, reception, or anything else.

Well, this will certainly be an interesting post to start the year off with…

Currently, I’m still working on a big story centred around Amity, which also has Luz in a much smaller role - appearing frequently at the beginning and then only making a few fleeting appearances for the remainder of it. Given the subject matter of the story itself, I thought that it could be interesting to have some strain put on their relationship. However, after thinking about it some more, I’m starting to wonder if my idea would actually be in character for them and contribute meaningfully to the story, and I just wanted to quickly share my idea to see what everyone thinks.

But first, I should probably back up and explain what my story’s actually about, since not everybody may have seen my previous posts on it. Basically, this began as a story showing how Amity reconnected with Lilith and found her career during the timeskip, with the two of them exploring another Titan island in search of an artefact related to the Titans and Collectors. However, I eventually came up with an arc for Amity that sees her struggling to find what she wants to be, while being plagued by the idea that she only changed as a person for Luz and that she’ll never be anything more than an extension of somebody else. Just as Lilith is about to embark on an expedition to another island, Amity would decide to join her at the last minute, but would initially only be interested in finding the artefact to prove herself, rather than exploring the island itself or reconnecting with her old mentor. However, of the course of the story, Amity would put the past behind her, repair her relationship with Lilith, and find a new interest in history and exploring.

As for how Luz factors into all of this, beyond being one of the catalysts for Amity’s arc, my initial idea was for this to lead to some tension between them, with Amity being partially desperate to prove herself without Luz’s influence. As I mentioned earlier, this would all be contained within the first act of the story, with Luz only making a few more appearances afterwards. This would be set up by having Amity gradually become somewhat distant from Luz throughout the first act, as her identity crisis begins to form and eat away at her, though she would still briefly talk to her about it. When Amity decides to sign up for Lilith’s expedition, Luz would immediately recognise that Amity was just doing it out of her old need for validation and confront her out of worry for her. However, Amity would stubbornly insist on going, determined to have something to show for herself. Luz would try to remind Amity that she doesn’t have to prove anything and that she loves her for who she is. However, with her identity crisis having gotten to her fairly badly at this point, Amity could briefly take this to mean that Luz only values her as her girlfriend and act offended by it, with her eventually lashing out that she doesn’t need or want Luz’s help. Almost immediately, Amity would briefly look remorseful and shocked at what she had just said, before reassuming a stern but sadder expression. Meanwhile, Luz would look hurt by this and briefly flinch away from Amity, as if she almost doesn’t recognise her anymore, before sadly apologising and agreeing to give her space, with the two of them going their separate ways until a much later point in the story.

I just want to emphasise that Amity wouldn’t actually be angry at Luz herself in this instance, instead projecting her own frustrations about wanting to be more than just an extension of somebody else onto her. Similarly, I don’t think that Luz would get angry back at Amity, though I briefly considered having her get slightly offended when Amity seems to imply that Luz only loves her as a distraction. I just thought that this could be an interesting scene to include, based on the story that I have planned, with Amity quickly feeling guilty about it and that she’s just repeating her past mistakes all over again (also, I thought that it would be an interesting change of pace for Luz and Amity to have a hurdle in their relationship and have it specifically be the latter’s fault).

Of course, the two of them would eventually reconcile, with one of them calling the other to apologise in a later scene. Although Luz would initially apologise for being overbearing, Amity would immediately insist that it was entirely her own fault, admitting that she was letting her old habits get the better of her and feeling that she’s unable to change, with this scene perhaps being at a low point for her in the story. However, Luz would comfort Amity, pointing out that she made the effort to change herself and that she can’t keep blaming herself for her mistakes forever, which would help Amity begin to put her identity crisis behind her, although not entirely until the climax. Following that, at the end of the story, Luz would be there to greet Amity when she returns home, with the two of them happily embracing each other.

However, since Luz isn’t a main character in this story, I’ve realised that this sub-plot could potentially wind up feeling somewhat disconnected from the rest of it and may instead be best reserved for a similar story that focuses more directly on her and Amity’s relationship. Besides, I already have plans to explore how Amity’s past relationship with her mother still affects her despite the latter not being present, so Luz could have a similar role but in the opposite direction. Additionally, Amity would already have a tenuous relationship with Lilith that visibly improves throughout the story and, if I ultimately decide to make her a main character, Willow could even be the one to encourage Amity to stop beating herself up (albeit in a slightly harsher manner than Luz would), so my ideas for Luz would technically already be fulfilled with other characters.

As a result, I think that the next best option would be to simply not focus on their relationship as much. There could perhaps still be an element of Amity becoming somewhat distant from Luz, but it wouldn’t lead to as much tension between them. Instead, while still being worried for her, Luz could simply wish Amity good luck on the trip before the latter leaves. While I could still keep the scene of Luz comforting Amity about her identity crisis, I think that it might feel even more disconnected from the rest of the story, so it might be best to give it to another character instead. Aside from that, Luz would mainly just appear some flashbacks and a nightmare sequence (both of which would still be in regardless) before the ending.

But what do you think? Does my idea for a Lumity fight make sense or would it be best to cut it from my story, whether for it being out of character or just unnecessary?

I'm mostly asking this because as much as I like Gus and Willow, I've always struggled to think what you could do with them plot wise. Even in season one, they've always felt a bit secondary and a bit out of focus and not having as much going on as other cast members, at least IMO.

That being said, I'm open to see what kind of things people wanted explored about them more.

And what do you imagine her initial reaction was upon finding out that one of her best friends willingly joined a team with "Half-a-Witch" Willow as the captain (especially after what happened with Amity)?

A few months ago, I made a post sharing the majority of my ideas for an Amity-centric story that I’ve been working on since the start of this year. In that post, one of my ideas involved coming up with a new character to serve as the story’s main villain. However, since the post was getting too long as it was, I decided to save this new character for their own post and explore my ideas for them in just as much detail. Unfortunately, due to a combination of work and slight writer’s block, I’ve yet to get around to making more progress on this post. However, I still wanted to give everyone who read my initial post an update, especially with the end of the year approaching, so I’ve decided to put together a quick preview of-sorts to give you a general idea of what I have planned. This will mostly be a brief overview of my ideas for this character’s personality, role in the story, and dynamic with Amity and the other characters, which I’ll explore more thoroughly whenever I can finally get around to finishing the longer post.

If you haven’t read my Amity spin-off concept post yet, I’d recommend perhaps giving it a quick read first, as this one might be a bit confusing without the full context. Now, onto my ideas for a new antagonist for Amity…

Just to quickly get this character’s name out of the way, I eventually decided to name them “Zoma”, which a portmanteau of “zero” (a placeholder name from when I first began work on them) and “soma” (an alternative name for “Chandra” - the Hindu god of the moon).

My general idea for Zoma is for them to essentially be a dark mirror reflection of Amity. Initially, they would just like Amity was: as a haughty, stubborn, overachieving young witch with a need to constantly prove their own worth, with them having been pressured to train to be the most skilled and powerful witch amongst their peers by their strict and overbearing family, which made them secretly terrified of falling short of those expectations and prone to putting down others to prop themself up. However, unlike Amity, Zoma’s condescending, arrogant demeanour would turn out to just be their actual personality, and they would fully embrace their family’s toxic ideals (even outright using them as an excuse for their actions) and fulfil the goal that they chose for them, despite being given the chance to change their ways by Amity and the other characters. Essentially, Zoma could be what Amity could have become if she not only didn’t have anybody to help her become a better person but was also unwilling to make the effort to change herself.

Since this story will take place on another Titan island and feature some more Collector lore, I decided to make Zoma a Titan Trapper and bring the group back as the story’s main antagonistic force. Initially, they could come to the Boiling Isles to try and kill King again, but quickly decide to follow the main characters to the new island and try to find the Collectors’ artefact before them. I even decided to bring back Tarak as a secondary antagonist, with him being Zoma’s father and/or mentor, and give him his own arc of slowly abandoning his people’s ways (which could be a fun subversion of this type of story where, this time, it’s the parent who gets the redemption while their child becomes an even bigger monster than them), though I’ll elaborate on this more in the longer post too.

As for Zoma’s relationship with Tarak, it would be somewhat similar to Amity’s relationship with Odalia, with Tarak constantly pressuring Zoma to fulfil their goals and beliefs. However, despite scolding them whenever they fail him, Tarak would also be shown to genuinely care about Zoma and not just view them as an extension of himself, with most of his actions being out of ignorance and being too absorbed into his people’s beliefs himself. Whereas Tarak would eventually begin to put his old ways behind him, Zoma would ultimately betray him and take the Collectors’ artefact for themself. The irony of the situation would be that, despite Zoma turning on their family, they’re still set on fulfilling the goal that they already planned for them, instead of forging their own path like Amity. Meanwhile, as for Zoma’s relationship with the other Titan Trappers, they could be respected for their magical and combative prowess but disliked for their pompous attitude or dismissed for being in their father’s shadow, which could parallel Amity’s own struggles in this story that I mentioned last time.

I’ve included some designs that I’ve made for Zoma, which show them both with and without their Titan disguise. I decided to make them the same age and height as Amity to suite their role as a mirror reflection of her, and I’ve tried to make their attire match the Titan Trappers’ as much as possible. Originally, I had considered keeping Zoma masked for the entire story and never revealing their face. However, I decided to show their face but have their face paint and tattoos cover the entirely of it, to convey the idea of them being fully absorbed into their people’s ideals and to parallel Amity using hair dye both to match her mother’s appearance and later break free of it (perhaps even unmasking them at the same time that Amity’s hair dye has mostly faded away, halfway into the story). One final note on Zoma’s design is that I decided to give them green eyes because green is generally a colour with negative connotations for Amity (her mother, her old bully façade, even her bullying of Willow) and I thought that it would fit with their role as an antagonist for her.

I decided to make Zoma an oracle witch to fit with them having a somewhat manipulative side to their personality and to mirror Amity’s own past traumatic experiences with this type of magic, with them using it on her in some similar ways to Odalia. However, I’ve also given Zoma a magic amplifier because I think that another way to make them a foil to Amity could be to parallel her hatred of cheating. Despite both of them being raised to be the best of the best, Zoma could instead use a magic amplifier to cheat their way through training and appear more gifted than they actually are. Since I’ve also decided to have them use oracle magic to read memories at several points, this could possibly be one of the abilities that they can only use with an amplifier. Aside from using oracle magic, Zoma’s main fighting style would involve using a dagger or other physical weapons, like the rest of the Titan Trappers. In contrast to Amity’s fighting style being more fluid and elegant, Zoma’s could be more brutal and erratic, almost animalistic. This could even extend to their general body language and mannerisms, albeit more subtly, in contrast to them speaking with the same soft-spoken dialect as their father.

As for Zoma’s actual dynamic and rivalry with Amity herself, since I suggested having a scene where Amity re-enters the Bonesborough Brawl, I think that this would be a great place to introduce it. With them both entering the brawl to test and prove their own abilities, Amity and Zoma would make it to the final round and fight each other, with Zoma winning by using oracle magic to exploit Amity’s insecurities before beating her physically. Since I suggested having Amity get weakened by losing her magic, I think that it would make sense to have Zoma be responsible for this - a good middle ground between this and Amity overworking herself could be for Amity to get injured earlier in the brawl, but she stubbornly refuses to pull out, which leads to her being unable to keep up with Zoma, who injures her further. From there, Zoma could taunt Amity over having pushed herself too hard and lost her magic while propping themself up, similarly to Amity’s own introduction in IWATA. Instead of having a dedicated second fight, the two of them would repeatedly clash several times before the climax, with Zoma initially having the upper hand before the fights begin to turn in Amity’s favour as she regains her strength.

In addition to the brawl, Zoma would also taunt Amity over her insecurities of being just an extension of somebody else and her guilt over her past actions, with them mockingly suggesting that she’ll never be anything more than a carbon copy of her mother and that she only changed for Luz, taking sadistic delight in her shame and depression. They could even take her regret at having followed her mother’s example and try to twist it into her trying to use her abuse as an excuse for her behaviour. This could even be an opportunity to include some flashbacks to Amity’s past, with Zoma using their oracle magic to access her memories and use them against her. Of course, Zoma would be doing this primarily to distract themself from their own insecurities, but there would also be a more personal element to it that I’ll get to shortly.

Initially, Amity’s interactions with Zoma could bring out her more fierce and competitive nature, with her being eager to upstage them after the brawl, as well as being enraged to discover that they won by cheating. However, after mellowing out towards the middle of the story, she could soon realise that Zoma is in a similar situation with their family that she was in and try to help them out of it, pointing out her own experiences. However, Zoma would angrily deny her help and that they were anything alike, revealing an element of their backstory that I alluded to earlier.

My idea for Zoma’s backstory is for them to have already met Amity at some point before the story begins, with having previously been a victim of Amity’s bullying, though with Amity herself having long forgotten about them. Up until this reveal, Zoma would speak to Amity as if they’ve already met, which would initially be implied to the result of them using oracle magic to read her mind but would later turn out to be a red herring. I’ve considered a few scenarios for this, with them having either met Amity at some point before Luz came to the Boiling Isles, been one of Amity’s opponents in the last Bonesborough Brawl, or even having been Ghost’s original owner before she bonded with Amity instead. Since we don’t see when exactly Tarak came to the Boiling Isles, it could be possible for him to have come at any of these points and brought Zoma with him. Either way, in all of this scenarios, Zoma would have challenged Amity to a fight and boasted about their skill and reputation, only to be easily bested and humiliated, with her acting condescendingly and dismissively towards them before leaving (albeit to differing degrees depending on the scenario). This would cause Zoma to have a nervous breakdown about being seen as a failure, and would be what leads to them using a magic amplifier to enhance their abilities. Whatever the scenario, Zoma would use this to guilt-trip Amity further, seemingly blaming her for their debilitating need for validation and condescending persona, although it would still be implied that they were already like that long before they even met her. Of course, Amity would be horrified by this and immediately apologise for it, though Zoma would still refuse her help, which would only further fuel her insecurities for a brief time.

As for the other main characters, with Zoma being a Titan Trapper, they would also have quite a few interactions with King too. Like their fellow trappers, Zoma would view King as nothing more than a mindless and destructive beast to be hunted down, and would frequently taunt him with this idea. Since Lilith and Hunter will be main characters in this story too, Zoma would also interact with them as well. They would also taunt both of them with their guilt over their past actions and share some similarities to them too, essentially making them something of a mirror to all three of the show’s main reformed antagonists (albeit most towards Amity, though I’ll elaborate more on all of them later). If I wind up making Willow a part of the main cast, then Zoma could try to manipulate her into assisting them, based on her past experience with Amity’s bullying, with her refusing after realising that Amity became better of her own volition. In case you’re wondering about Luz, Zoma wouldn’t interact with her at all and mainly just bring her up while taunting Amity. I’d originally considered including a brief scene where Luz stands for Amity when Zoma first mocks her, inadvertently giving them more to work with, but I may wind up giving this to Edric and/or Emira instead.

By the time of the story’s climax, Amity would have gotten over her initial desire to find the artefact just to prove her worth, while Zoma would be fully consumed and driven by theirs. At the same time that Amity would try to talk Lilith out of taking the artefact from its resting place, Zoma would take the opportunity to take it for themself, ignoring their father’s pleas for them not to. After taking the artefact, Zoma would use it to assume a Collector form, similarly to Titan Luz, and leave to begin wreaking havoc upon the island. However, this would also be the point where Amity successfully achieves her abomination form and, after offering them one last chance for help, has to fight Zoma in their super form too. Ultimately, Amity would win this final fight (due to Zoma only having a fraction of an actual Collector’s power and her being able to smartly outwit them, with the latter being somewhat of an inversion of their first fight) and take the artefact back from Zoma, turning them back to normal. In another inversion of their first fight, Amity would end the fight by shattering Zoma’s magic amplifier, knocking them off their unearned pedestal.

As for how Zoma’s story could end, I’ve thought of two possible outcomes. The first of them sees Tarak reluctantly disown Zoma and banish them from their tribe, with them spitefully refusing Amity’s help yet again and fleeing to parts unknown. However, the second of them sees Zoma try one last time to kill Amity after both them revert back to normal, only to wind up falling off a ledge towards a pit. Amity would grab their hand at the last second and try to save them but Zoma would attack her, causing her to lose her grip and them to fall to their death. Personally, I prefer the second ending as I think that it would make for a more effective contrast between the two of them (Amity has fully grown out of her old ways while Zoma refuses to change) and I’m already planning for Zoma to just be a one-off character anyway.

So, that’s the broad strokes of my ideas for a new antagonist for Amity. I apologise if this was a little messy, and the longer post will definitely be more coherent and fleshed out than this, but this should hopefully give you a decent idea of what I have planned. For now, feel free let me know what you think of my ideas for this character and this story as a whole.

Full Title: [awsumsas] Realistically minor but from my point of view a huge problem I have with the finale of The Owl House is that a LOT of the villains just never get any comeuppance, or at least not nearly what they deserve.

Belos? He gets melted alive. Absolutely deserved for the hell he put the Boiling Isles through for 400 years. But he's pretty much the only one whose punishment is equal to or surpasses the crimes he committed.

Kikimora? The girl who was obsessively devoted to overthrowing the Golden Guard? She gets the shit kicked out of her but that's kinda it. The last we see of her before the epilogue she's still trying to kill the kids, and she nearly does before they teleport to the Archives. Terra? The girl who brainwashed and manipulated Raine? She just gets turned into a toy like everyone else on the Isles. Odalia? Famous abusive parent? The woman who funded Belos's genocide and ruined the lives of her children? Yeah she gets nothing but an offscreen divorce. Boscha? The girl who relentlessly bullied the entire hexside squad for no reason? She gets off completey scot-free! The most that happens to her is that she maybe embarassed herself by opening up her heart to Amity, but outside of that she still had an arrogant selfish attitude and showed basically no signs of change.

If you ask me a ton of the villains deserved way worse than they got and I theorize that a lot of it is just due to either time constraints or Disney being Disney (100% Alador would've confronted Odalia and told her about his plans for a divorce but I doubt Disney would include a divorce mention in their precious kids show).

It's not enough to ruin the series of course, hell it's not even enough to ruin the finale, but I do wish they got more than a slap on the wrist.

I think that it’s reasonably easy to deduce that the Collector briefly seen in KKKOHD is entirely separate from “our“ Collector, mainly because they seem to be more deliberately sadistic than naïvely indifferent. However, that also got me wondering as to whether or not this Collector could potentially be the “Grand Huntsman” that the Titan Trappers worship. I think that this could make sense because their personality and motives seem to align more with that of the Titan Trappers, with them outwardly seeming to enjoy hunting down the Owl Beast, in stark contrast to “our“ Collector, who merely wanted to play childish games with their “prey”.

Admittedly, a potential hole in this idea is that “our” Collector is already aware of the Titan Trappers in W&D. However, if we take the murals in the Archive House literally, then we can infer that the Titan Trappers were founded while the Archivists were present in the Demon Realm. Therefore, it could be possible for the KKKOHD Collector to have founded the Titan Trappers as their “Grand Huntsman“, with “our” Collector being present to witness it. Of course though, this would also invite the question of what happened to this Collector afterwards. Did they leave the Demon Realm with the other Archivists or were they sealed away like “our” Collector? The former seems to be more likely, since the Titan Trappers’ tablet seemed to be connected to “our” Collector’s prison and was what linked King’s mind to them.

Personally, I like to think that the “Grand Huntsman” is actually the Collector seen in KKKOHD and I’m currently using this idea in a fanfic that I’m still working on, albeit using the former idea of them being sealed away in the Demon Realm (though in a different way than “our” Collector). But what do you think? Do you consider the “Grand Huntsman” to be this Collector or still “our” Collector?

Since we know from Separate Tides that Lilith considered Hunter to be a brat and was jealous of his status, my headcanon is that the two of them were bitter rivals within the Emperor’s Coven, much like the rest of the Coven Heads. Similarly to Lilith’s view of him, I think that Hunter could have perhaps seen Lilith as incompetent and undeserving of being head of their coven, due to her repeated failures to capture Eda, although neither of them would have been fully aware of each other’s personal struggles (Lilith’s relationship with her sister and Hunter’s abuse at Belos’ hands).

This rivalry could even continue until a certain point into the timeskip, with the two of them frequently bickering and trying to upstage each other, though this could also potentially be due to them reminding each other of their own guilt for their roles in Belos’ plans. Eventually, after learning of the full extent of each other‘s struggles, the two of them could decide to put their grudges behind them, though they could still retain their rivalry in a friendlier manner.

But what headcanons do you have for these two?

Personally, I think that they could potentially bond over wanting to be seen as more than just an extension of their families. In King’s case, if the rest of the Boiling Isles were to learn that he was the son of the Titan themselves, then it could lead to most of them deifying him. Just like in OTWAT, King could be overwhelmed and distraught by this, wanting to just be seen for who he is. Amity could relate to King’s struggles, as she had lived in her parents’ shadows for her entire life and only just broken free from that (and still may not yet be entirely sure of who she really is outside of that), and try to help him through it.

Additionally, based on her calling him a pet in Covention, I think that Amity may have initially not realised that King was just a child. Upon realising this, she may likely start treating him just as gently as she does other children at the library. Also, King could occasionally tease Amity about stepping on his cupcake, with her making him some more to apologise.
