Disney XD is an American cable and satellite television network and a sister network to Disney Channel. Originally marketed to teenage boys with original sitcoms and animated series, most of Disney XD's current lineup (as of 2024) consists of reruns of Disney Channel original animated series, including The Owl House.
After The Owl House left Disney Channel on April 9, 2023 with a final rerun of "Watching and Dreaming",[1] Disney XD continued to regularly air the series until a final rerun of "Clouds on the Horizon" on August 18, 2023,[2] after which it became exclusive to special occasions, such as Friday nights in October 2023.[3]
Trivia[]
- Similar to most other acquired Disney Channel shows, The Owl House was strictly aired in production order. This meant that episodes 8–15 of Season 1 would air in the following order: "Escape of the Palisman" (10), "Something Ventured, Someone Framed" (9), "Adventures in the Elements" (12), "Sense and Insensitivity" (11), "Really Small Problems" (14), "The First Day" (13), "Understanding Willow" (15) and "Once Upon a Swap" (8). This also meant that "Eclipse Lake" would air before "Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door".
- Due to the hour-long length of Season 3's specials, when "King's Tide" aired during the first half of a one-hour timeslot, the series would not play "Thanks to Them" afterwards and would instead restart with "A Lying Witch and a Warden".
- The Disney XD airings contained minor differences compared to the airings on Disney Channel.
- Disney XD aired the credits sequences in full-screen (albeit seldom), a practice abandoned by Disney Channel after "Escape of the Palisman". Disney XD only overlayed the credits over the episode itself for "Watching and Dreaming" (due to the length of the credits sequence).
- In addition, "Watching and Dreaming" had two commercial breaks in contrast to the commercial-free premiere on Disney Channel.
