The Owl House Wiki

Oh, I wish I could stay longer, but I must be off on my next adventure.

Flora D'splora is a minor character in The Owl House. She is Lilith's old mentor from the Emperor's Coven and a well-known historian.

Flora is an average-built woman with tan skin, a round nose, short black hair styled in a bob cut, and brown eyes. She also has pointed ears and a brown top lip.

Flora wears a burgundy dress with a black belt and sleeves as well as puffs on her shoulders, in addition to orange pantaloons and high gray-and-black boots. A triangular emblem from the Emperor's Coven is present on her dress. She also wears pink-tinted eyeglasses.

Known by Lilith as a "bad-girl historian", Flora is adventurous and has a deep amount of wanderlust in her. She is also very intelligent and deeply obsessed with history. However, she seems to be a bit apathetic, as she only attended Lilith's party under Emperor Belos' orders and has no respect for wildlife.

At some point in her past, Flora joined the Emperor's Coven and mentored Lilith throughout the latter's time in the coven.

Years later, she traveled to The Owl House to celebrate Lilith's induction as a curator of the Supernatural Museum of History. Afterwards, Flora informs her that she attended the party to make sure no trouble was caused and to drop off her things after Lilith's office was cleared out.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Name and basis[]

The name Flora means "flower" in Latin and is a feminine given name in many Hispanic languages. Her surname may be based on desplor, the Spanish word for "slump", although it may also be a play on "deplore".

Flora may be a reference to the children's character Dora Márquez from Dora the Explorer. In addition to physical resemblance, her name is a pun on the show's title, and her whip has a monkey palisman at the top, which may allude to Boots, a monkey who often accompanies Dora on her journeys.

Flora is voiced by Eileen Galindo.

Prior to her appearance in the series, Flora was mentioned in the audio recording of Lilith during the "Be Gay Do Witchcraft Charity Drawathon!" charity stream.[2] She made her official debut in the episode "Elsewhere and Elsewhen".

  • Her voice actress, Eileen Galindo, also voiced Dora's mother in Dora the Explorer from seasons 1-3 and 5-8.
  • She wrote a book titled The Last Titan. A Study of the Boiling Isles that Bill is seen reading in "Edge of the World".
    • Ironically, despite researching the Titans enough to write a book on the last surviving specimen, she didn't realize King was the last Titan.
