Fool's Blood is a substance which can be found in the tunnels inside the Knee.
Appearance[]
Fool's Blood somewhat resembles petrified viscous liquid; it is dark blue in color with a glossy surface, and can appear marbled and even slightly translucent. As the name suggests, Fool's Blood is similar in appearance to Titan's Blood, and is often mistaken for it. It is typically found in clusters of many blob-like masses of varying sizes. It is also seen dripping down from the "ceiling" of the Titan's veins, forming stalactite and stalagmite-like structures.
Background[]
According to Philip Wittebane from his diary, if Fool's Blood can be found in the tunnels inside the Knee, it signifies a decaying vein, and when a cell is touched, it can cause disruption to the surrounding areas.[1]
Fool's Blood appears to have been scattered throughout the Boiling Isles during the Hecktaceous Period.[2]
Supposedly, during the Deadwardian Era, Philip and his companions traveled to the Knee to collect Titan's Blood from Eclipse Lake. Due to unknown circumstances surrounding the substance, Philip's companions all died inside the tunnel, and he was the only one to make it out alive.[1] The credibility of this statement is questionable, however, as Philip is revealed to have lied in his diary entries on numerous occasions.[2]
While trying to locate Eclipse Lake, Eda, King, Amity, and Hunter come across a tunnel filled with Fool's Blood. Hunter warns Eda to avoid touching the substance, as it indicates a decaying vein, but she assumes he's lying and proceeds to crack a cell anyway using her staff. This causes the ground to split into a large ravine, which Eda and King fall into.[1]
