Frewin is a minor character in The Owl House. He is an imp-like palisman belonging to Principal Bump, and rests with his mouth over Bump's upper head and eyes, helping Bump to see better through his eyes.
Appearance[]
Frewin is an imp-like creature with a slightly humanoid appearance. He has a long, spade-tipped tail, clawed hands, and two horns on either side of his head, with a wide cat-like mouth showing two fangs and a dull blue tongue. His skin and staff are maroon in color, with paler spots circling his eyes. Said eyes, which usually cover Bump's, are dull sea green, with pale yellow sclera.
In his staff form, Frewin rests in a hunched position, with his hands over the top of his staff, his feet hanging off of it, and his tail wrapped around it. His eyes squint and become fully pale yellow.[1]
Background[]
For the most part, Frewin is always seen on Bump's head, only occasionally detaching himself. Like most palismen, Frewin has been with Bump ever since the latter was a Hexside student, as shown in past photos of Bump.[2] Frewin was also present during Eda's time at Hexside, when Bump was still only the vice-principal under Principal Faust.[3]

When the Bat Queen comes to Hexside for Palisman Pairing Day, Frewin detaches himself from Bump's head and perches himself on a staff while Bump explains how Frewin helps him to see.

When Adrian Graye Vernworth brings Coven Scouts to Hexside in order to brand the students into covens, Frewin again detaches himself as Bump uses him as a staff in fighting against the scouts.
On the Day of Unity, Frewin is turned into a puppet by the Collector's spies along with Bump. He is returned to normal months later, and flies Bump, Cat, and Amelia back to Hexside.[4]
Powers and abilities[]
- Attachment and Detachment: Frewin has the ability to attach onto a staff as a palisman and detach to cover Principal Bump's head.
- Seeing eye: Frewin has the ability to allow his user to see through his eyes, allowing Principal Bump to see unimpaired (one of his eyes is sewn shut, possibly because it was somehow damaged beyond healing).
