Gland Prix is a race event that takes place in the Boiling Isles. The participants come from the three magic schools of the Isles: Hexside, Glandus High, and St. Epiderm.
Description[]
The contestants race with each other using their staffs. During the race, the contestants will fly down the right arm to the cubital valley. They race to the checkpoint using speed, skills, and magic, and then turn back and fly towards the finish line. Winners will get their names etched on the Cup of Ephemeral Glory, and an on-camera interview, seen by everyone watching across the Isles.
Background[]
In "Eda's Requiem", Luz and King decide to join the race in hopes of winning and getting an on-camera interview so that King can send out a message to his father. They train hard for the event, and when the day comes, Luz manages to race past other participants and gain the lead. However, somewhere along the race, King's motion sickness gets the best of him, and he throws up, causing Luz to crash. Luz then races closely with Ukla towards the finish line, eventually beating her by a short interval and getting 5th place. Gavin from Glandus High comes in 1st place, a student from St. Epiderm comes in 2nd place, and a student from Hexside comes in 3rd place.

- The name "Gland Prix" is an allusion to the real-life Grand Prix event.
