—Hexside Guard, "Something Ventured, Someone Framed"

Hexside Guards are minor characters in The Owl House. They act as watchdogs for Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. They serve as the school's hall monitors, and patrol the halls and classrooms of Hexside to keep it in order.

Appearance[]

Body[]

Hexside Guards have pale brown skin, pointed ears, and they wear masks that resemble an upside-down skull face.

Clothing[]

Their uniform consists of a navy blue suit and royal blue robes decorated with a yellow nose symbol, followed by gray boots. Hexside Guards also carry a shepherd's crook with them, which they use to restrain rebellious students.

Personality[]

The Guards are devoid of emotions and have only one directive; to catch misbehaving students and throw them in detention. However, they can be unable to tell whether students even commit any misdemeanors and just drag anyone in the nearby vicinity to detention no matter how much the offenders protest. According to Gus, they're said to literally able to smell trouble.

The Hexside Guards were hired to monitor Hexside after Luz, posing as an abomination, caused destruction to the school. They were first spotted by Luz, while the Guards were sending two misbehaving students to detention. Mattholomule, desperate to take over the Human Appreciation Society, exposes Luz to the guards when Gus brings her to school so he could force Gus to hand over leadership. This backfires when Gus instead gets them both sent to detention by pulling the fire alarm and framing Matt for it, with the latter complaining to the Guard taking them away which fell on deaf ears.
