Hunter's staff (also known as The Golden Guard's staff) is the staff used by Hunter, the right-hand man of Emperor Belos.[1]

Appearance[]

Hunter's staff resembles the design of Emperor Belos' staff, as it too appears to be white and gold with a mechanical wing. Like Belos' staff, the Golden Guard's staff does not feature a palisman atop it, and in its place, there is a red tip that acts as a focusing point for magic when being used.

Background[]

Hunter was given his staff by his uncle, Emperor Belos. As a grimwalker, Hunter cannot cast spells on his own and depends entirely on his staff for magic.[2] However, despite him being powerless, Hunter, when armed with his staff, is noted to be a "genius teen prodigy", indicating that the artificial magic the staff commands is incredibly powerful.[1]

During Hunter's mission to obtain palismen, the staff ended up with Luz after Kikimora's hand dragon caused the ship they were on to crash. Luz wielded the staff to keep Hunter unarmed while they were in Latissa and returned it since he could use it better as part of their plan to thwart Kikimora.[2]

Abilities[]

  • Telekinesis: He is able to use his artificial magic to telekinetically move objects and individuals without touching them.
  • Teleportation: Hunter can use his artificial magic to teleport like Emperor Belos. He frequently uses this ability to evade enemy attacks and move in high-speed dashes.
  • Creation Magic: He can create a sword out of thin air, which seems to be made of flesh. He is also able to create rope that he can use to tie someone up.
  • Energy Blasts: Hunter is able to shoot blasts of magical energy from his staff.
  • Water Magic: He can travel underwater via shaping a section of the water into a giant arm.
  • Earth Magic: Hunter was shown to be able to control sand and dirt with his magic during his fight against Eda and Luz.
  • Flight: Hunter has shown that he can use his staff to fly, much like witches.
