  • Since the release of the new episode, users are already assuming that Amity has a crush on Luz because she wanted to ask our out to grom and danced with her. You do know asking someone out to prom doesn't always have to be with someone you are crushing on. You can ask your friend, boy or girl, to go with you. Anyway, Dana Terrace herself confirmed that there is nothing romantic between Luz and Amity.

Either protect the page or make a statement.

    • I see what you're saying, except it's moot since I'm not an admin here, I serve as assistant and advisor. I also don't pick sides over "right" and "wrong", and in this situation, you might not want to remove too much and declare it false, because that could anger some users here and feel like they're being censored. I can inform RedBallFire and other admins about keeping neutrality, but you should probably tell them that, before things get messy from miscommunication.

  • Hello, SilverFlight

I'm sorry for this coming out of the blue and not relating to this wiki at all. Let me explain myself. I was blocked on Disney Wiki a year ago for "vandalism" by an admin named GrayWolf2. However, I had only made two small edits during my entire history on that site. Those were two years before I was blocked for what appears to be very unfair and unclear reasons. I had not been active before and after 2017, but I was blocked out of nowhere in 2019 by an admin I had never heard of.

Please hear me out. I contacted GrayWolf2 on another wiki that he serves as an admin on; the Lilo and Stitch Wiki. I posted a very detailed message calmly explaining my side, and even offered screenshots to prove my innocence. I was blocked on there too! The reason was for "interference". This all seems very unfair to me. I have also provided screenshots in this thread of the entire event. My request is can you please unblock me on Disnsy Wiki? I have never vandalized on that site, that is the only wiki I had ever been blocked on (well, until Lilo and Stitch Wiki too but that was even more unfair/confusing). May you also reason with GrayWolf2 on the Disney Wiki about why he even blocked me in the first place?

Thank you. Again, sorry if this comes off as crazy. But please, please hear me out.

    • Hi, sorry, I'm not an admin on that site anymore, so I'm not keen on getting involved with the staff again. Now, Gray, it is a little excessive if not unusual for him to block you with only two edits and not hear you out. I can shorten your block on the Lilo & Stitch Wiki, and if you talk to him again, you can reference me when you want him to hear your case.

    • Oh, my apologies! I didn't know you were active there anymore, I just went through the list of admins and went to the one who seemed the most dependable to me. I do appreciate your help, however I doubt I will contact Gray directly seeing as how easy I was dismissed by him even after being pretty calm in my reasoning. I will likely get in touch with other Disney Wiki admins as well to continue pleading my innocence. Again, thank you, I appreciated you listening to what I had to say

    • Oh okay, thank you for letting me know! How would I begin the community voting process?

    • At the moment, there are lots of admins, but you can create a post using this link: The Owl House Wiki:Request for Staff/Administrator/Littlemissmitchie. The list I provided above explains the community voting process for you to reference at your leisure.

  • Hello, one of the episodes has Bosook Bo Coburns name spelt as Boshook Bo Coburn, so when I created an article for her, i linked it through Boshook instead of Bosook. Is there any way you could rename "Boshook 'Bo' Coburn" to "Bosook 'Bo' Coburn"?

    Thank you!

  • I noticed the page for Water Bug Demon Bus was deleted, I thought it was okay to have articles about demons?

      Loading editor
    • It's a minor object article that makes a onetime appearance and isn't important to the plot, nor is it acknowledged with an official name. Plus, we don't even know if it's a demon or merely a sentient bus, so to call it a demon without proof is connjecture.

Take making an article for the ball that appears in "Something Ventured, Something Framed", for example. The prop shows up in one scene and then disappears never to be seen again. That would be an extremely irrelevant article to make on trivial information. Then one would think that if this world has demons, somehow it should be called a "demon basketball" even though no one said it is or if it's even living. Doesn't make sense, now does it?

    • The moniker "Water Bug Demon Bus" is derived directly from the closed captions (an example of why I think it's sometimes useful to include them), I would not have assumed it to be a demon otherwise.

If it were a normal ball I wouldn't bother, though come to think of it the one in here does look pretty unique. There's just no verbal baseline of what to call it (I'd suggest "eye ball") or how to classify it (it could be a demon, but that's speculation since it's not called that in the audio or captions)

The bus seems a lot more significant though since despite being a one-off (AFAIK: it's possible it might have appeared in the background of some other episode and I just didn't notice yet) it's a HUGE creature which provides transportation to several students, seemingly an important aspect of Boiling Isles culture.

        Loading editor
    • I suspected you'd have a reason for "looking unique", and it's really not a reason to make an article. As the truism goes, "don't judge a book by its cover": just because something looks eye-catching and captures attention doesn't mean it is important. The background elements such as the bus suffer highly from this, and to be fair, it is very tempting to make something on them; given the art style used in the series, literally anything in the background can look stylish and contribute nothing whatsoever.

But I digress, the goal is to avoid making articles on too many minor elements. It's better to put the information on pages of more major topics. For instance, the various covens that were one-shots were better suited for the "List of covens" page as users don't need a page for every coven so minor, much less redundant. Also, relying on captions is not always a safe bet, especially if it's from your TV's captions. They're often meant for describing images to people who can't hear, not legitimite information. If you do, I recommend using the captions used on "official" video services for information, i.e. DisneyNOW.

    • I guess I figured it was official since it was Disney Channel, but if DisneyNOW is more reliable then I guess hopefully eventually someone with access to that can find that scene of the bus screeching to see if it also prefaxes the SFX with "Water Bug Demon".

Usually captions don't go into that kind of detail all on their own, it seems like a preposterous amount of detail unless a rogue captioner was having fun.

  • Do you think it would be possible for them to be undeleted them and I could make a gallery on my userspace for my uploads so they don't register as unused?

Put a lot of work into taking them and it seems some apparent lack of use might be due to problems incorporating them into templates.

Like for example Raven Staff has no image but file:RavenStaff.jpg was deleted I think because the input field was done as image= instead of image1=

    • Btw, please keep the cropped images you made on your userpage as you said you would. I restored your images for that purpose, and would appreciate it that you not upload them on the episode galleries.

  • Not to be rude but the red theme is eye bleeding and would rather use the white and gold as it matches the show better.

      Loading editor
    • Thanks for the feedback! I've been discussing with RedBall about the theme on Discord. I suggested to him using a combination of burgundy, gold, and white. The problem with using white and gold was that it mixed into browns and damaged the text's visibility. Red color came up because RedBall received backlash trying to change the previous light-red colors this wiki used to use, while the show itself uses red for the backgrounds and posters. I'm technically still discussing it with him right now, but I'm waiting for his response.

  • Regarding your edit to Spell Circle, magic having colored auras associated with it is not universal.  Across its depiction in media going back decades, magic has been everything from invisible (Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie) to a trail of glitter (Disney magic) to explosive (every fantasy RPG ever).  My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the first show I remember where magic users had specific colors associated with their spellcasting.  They even made it a plot point on occasion.  If a unicorn's aura changed color it usually meant something was wrong.

    • Of course, it's true that MLP is the first televised depiction, but it's not the only media depiction. When I read your edit, as someone who's been exposed to DnD/tabletop, I knew that it wasn't uncommon for magic to be color-coded (or original). It's existed before MLP in many fantasy stories. Heck, I checked and it's even a trope across platforms from Lord of the Rings fame (but given I don't know LotR that well, even I probably wouldn't have picked that up). I agree, It's interesting to note that MLP had something similar, but that doesn't make it a reference if the trope didn't come from MLP.

  • Was it canonically established that Camilia Noceda is a nurse?  The uniform she's wearing is worn by a broad range of healthcare workers from surgeons to housekeeping.  I've also seen similar uniforms worn outside of the healthcare industry.

      Loading editor
    • I don't recall exactly. While I'm not advocating this as true, my first thought was also nurse due to familiarity with the style of uniform.

    • Ok.  It's just that I spent some time working with hospitals and everybody wears that uniform regardless of their function.  The exception would be security.  You can then tell what they do by their ID badge and additional accessories.
