The Collector's spies were blue star-shaped entities deployed by the Collector during his rise to power in order to cast puppet spells on every inhabitant of the Boiling Isles.
Appearance[]
The Collector's spies are levitating, shiny blue star-shaped beings, with black sclera and glowing red pupils that face in opposite directions, as well as two long eyelashes on either eye. Their bodies are flat and consist of a central circle on which their face is located, with five rounded triangle shapes with curved bases revolving around it, which gives it the appearance of a five-pointed star. When attacking, a crescent moon symbol appears on their foreheads (this being the projectile used to cast their puppet spell), and both of their eyes face forward to lock onto their target.
Background[]
The Collector's spies are minions of the Collector, presumably created by him, sent to transform all witches and demons on the Boiling Isles into puppets via Puppet Spell, and then bring them to the Archive House. Sometime shortly after Emperor Belos' Draining Spell was stopped by the Collector moving the moon in order to end the eclipse that powered it, the Titan's skull was broken, and the Archive House's construction began, the spies were deployed across the Isles by the Collector in search of witches and demons to transform into puppets for use in his games. During this time, Edric Blight had set off in search of his younger sister, but was cornered by one of the spies and, in trying to escape it, accidentally fell down an empty well and ended up in a full-body cast.[1]
When they arrived at Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, they transformed its entire faculty, including Principal Bump, into puppets. Boscha, Amelia and Cat tried to fend them off, but Amelia and Cat were turned into puppets and taken away, with Boscha barely managing to escape.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
- Levitation: The spies levitate above the ground in order to move. They can ascend to seemingly any level, including very high above the ground, in search of their soon-to-be victims.
- Dashing: One spy has demonstrated the ability to generate sudden bursts of speed, which it used to quickly get behind its target in an attempt to attack. The other spies can be presumed to have this ability as well.
- Transmogrification: The spies are capable of shooting blue and yellow crescent moon-shaped projectiles, serving as the center of their Puppet Spell, which can transform their target into a marionette-like state.
