The Owl House Main Title Theme is an instrumental theme that is used for the opening of The Owl House. It was composed and produced by TJ Hill, and was animated by Sugarcube and Spencer Wan. On some airings, the theme is shortened.
Appearance[]
The intro consists of originally animated footage which introduces us to the characters.
- The portal appears and opens.
- Luz appears, and appears to be going through the sky upwards, but the camera shows that it was upside down and that actually, Luz was falling. Eda rescues Luz, and along with King, they appear flying the Owl Staff, in the direction of The Owl House.
- The camera follows them to the Owl House. It approaches the door, where Hooty is, and Luz opens it and is seen twirling the staff, until she leaves it standing, Luz puts her right hand on her hip, and holds the staff with her left. Eda takes the staff away from her and Luz gets nervous, while King stands in front of the camera to wave with his arms outstretched.
- Willow, Gus, and Amity appear in three frames. Willow makes a heart with her hands, Gus holds out his arms in celebration, and Amity just ignores, and turns her back, crossing her arms.
- King appears holding a stuffed rabbit, along with many other stuffed animals around. He pretends to rule these stuffed animals, until some of them fall on him, while other stuffed animals keep falling in front of the camera.
- Luz flies over Bonesborough, where she meets Tinella Nosa, Willow and Gus. Later, Eda and King are seen running from the guards, Luz helps them escape, but later they lose control of the staff, and are chased by a creature.
- Luz, Eda and King are on the roof of the Owl House, where Luz casts her Light Spell, making it go into the night.
- The The Owl House logo appears, then the Light spell streaks across it with background sounds. The theme ends there.
Changes to Season 2[]
- Eda is now in the appearance she has since "Young Blood, Old Souls".
- The portal is replaced by an eye with flames inside.
- A scene where Luz plays with cards and does her Light spell, followed by Eda spinning the staff and King comes out from behind her, followed by Willow doing plant magic, Gus conjuring illusions, and Amity doing abomination magic. It replaces the scenes of Luz falling and the Owl House.
- Lilith, Hunter and Kikimora appear in the frames, instead of Willow, Gus, and Amity, then shows the reverse side of their frames with Lilith sobbing, Hunter taking off his mask, revealing his face partially, and Kikimora enraged. In addition, nine symbols of the Covens are added on top, the Owl House is on the bottom left, and the Emperor's Castle is on the bottom right.
- Emperor Belos appears, behind him his castle, and lightning strikes. This replaces the scene of King and the stuffed animals.
- In the scene of Luz flying over Bonesborough, instead of the blue sky, it is now sunset. The color tone is much more natural with improved, more realistic overall shading.
- On the roof shot, the night sky is colored in a more vibrant purple and milky ways are now seen. Same as above, the shading has been improved.
- As the light spell expands, a new background sound is accompanied by it.
- "The Owl House" logo is now enclosed in a frame, and instead of being streaks across it only by the light spell, the fire, plant, and ice spells now appear around it, along with the light spell, which are the spells Luz have currently learned as of "Wing It Like Witches".
- As of "Hunting Palismen", a few changes have been made:
- Eda wears a new outfit.
- King has his horn fixed and his collar tag carved.
- Amity has a new hairstyle and is given a new necklace.
Season 3[]
From Season 3 onwards, the main title consists of a montage of the aftermath of the Day of Unity.
"Thanks to Them"[]
- Luz and her friends return to the old cabin and begin refurbishing it.
- Luz puts together a coming out video and shows it to her mother, who happily accepts her and Amity's relationship.
- Luz and her friends try out new clothes while Vee gets a new human form.
- Hunter has a mental breakdown when seeing Belos and Caleb in the mirror as he attempts to hastily cut his now grown-out hair, which gets Willow's attention and she does it for him.
- The group attempts to recreate a portal which briefly reaches the In Between Realm before exploding as Luz becomes depressed.
- Hunter and the Hexisidians give Camila some Demon Realm cuisine much to Luz and Camila's shock and disgust.
- Luz and Vee show the non-boiling rain to others with Willow taking an interest in photography.
- Luz becomes homesick and misses her surrogate family in the Boiling Isles while her egg shows no signs of hatching; she also has to go back to school.
"For the Future"[]
- A meteor shoots towards the ground and lands in front of Eda who is kneeling in front of Raine, who wakes up.
- Eda sees the Collector grabbing onto King's arm and does a backflip as she turns into a harpy and leaves Raine.
- Kikimora climbs out of a hole in her Abomatron as a large star explodes in a bright flash and sends a large wave across the Isles.
- Various Penstagram posts include:
- People try to run away from the spell center as meteors fall close behind.
- Hexside becomes surrounded by star-shaped robotic creatures as the staff try to fight them off only to be turned into puppets.
- The Collector's castle floating in the distance and the Boiling Isles shrouded in his waves.
- Harpy Eda flies forward towards King and The Collector, but her inner Owl Beast takes over and she tries to get the elixir but is caught by the Collector who then says "You look fun. Wanna play?" This causes the Owl Beast to fully take control and attack, leaving behind a few feathers and the logo of the show, abruptly turned into a more childish style.

Trivia[]
- In the openings for "Witches Before Wizards" and "I Was a Teenage Abomination", Willow's outfit is light purple due to studying the abomination track at the time.
- From "The Intruder" to "O Titan, Where Art Thou", her outfit is recolored to green to reflect her changing to the plant track at the end of "I Was a Teenage Abomination".
- Season 2 updates the opening with new animated sequences. It also reshoots the flying sequence to be around sunset.
- The new opening was first teased in an interview by YouTuber, and later production associate, Rebecca Bozza with Dana Terrace and Amphibia creator Matt Braly, where Dana briefly showed a shot on her phone featuring Lilith, Hunter, and Kikimora in the frames.[1]
- After the events in Through the Looking Glass Ruins, in which Amity changes her hair color from green to purple, her hair color in the intro is changed accordingly.
- "A Lying Witch and a Warden", "Young Blood, Old Souls", "Clouds on the Horizon", "King's Tide" and "Watching and Dreaming" are the only episodes to not use an opening sequence.
- "Young Blood, Old Souls" is the only episode to not use the logo at all, while "A Lying Witch and a Warden" instead displays the logo at the end.
- Most of Season 2b completely cuts the opening sequence, with the only exceptions being "Follies at the Coven Day Parade", "Any Sport in a Storm", "Reaching Out" and "O Titan, Where Art Thou".
- In some airings (usually in Disney Channel marathons) and in "Any Sport in a Storm", the intro is shortened to fifteen seconds.
- A short excerpt of the theme plays in the score for the Amphibia episode "Bessie & MicroAngelo".
- In "Hunting Palismen", the Golden Guard whistles the theme song.
- In the Korean dub, the light spell in the logo is reanimated to fit the local changes.[citation needed]
- In the Hebrew dub, the Season 2 opening reuses the Season 1 light spell animation for the logo.
- In "Thanks to Them", a remix of the opening is played over a montage of Luz and her friends adjusting to life in the Human Realm, with the series logo appearing at the end.
