The Wittebane brothers arrive in Gravesfield, where they become witch-hunters. Sometime later, they have an encounter with a witch named Evelyn, and Caleb ends up falling in love with her. Caleb and Evelyn leave the Human Realm and go to the Demon Realm. Philip, thinking that Caleb was led astray by Evelyn's intentions, follows them to the Demon Realm through Eclipse Lake, to take revenge on Evelyn. When Philip finds out Caleb's love for Evelyn, he confronts his brother, and ends up killing Caleb. | ||

Luz and Lilith travel back in time to the Deadwardian Era. There they meet Philip, who ends up using them to find the tablet which the Collector is trapped in. Luz and Lilith manage to escape Philip's trap and return to their present time. | "Elsewhere and Elsewhen" | |
c. Late 17th century-early to mid 20th century | At some point, Philip manages to get in contact with the Collector, whom he promises to free if he teaches him about magic and a draining spell to kill of the witches, however, Philip has no interest in freeing the Collector and is only using him for his personal gain. Philip also begins to create artificial witch-like clones called Grimwalkers with traits of his brother Caleb, to assist him in his quest. Later, he assumes a new identity, a witch named Belos, in order to trick the witches and make them believe that he can talk to the Isles, that mixing magic is wrong, and that he is the only one with that right. Philip achieves his goal and deceives them, convincing them to create a system of covens to restrict the witches from using more than one type of magic. Lilith, in order to win the Emperor's Coven tryouts, curses Eda, but on the day of the match Eda willingly forfeits, refusing to fight her sister, and Lilith joins the Emperor's Coven. During the day of the match, Eda transformed for the first time, due the curse. | "Young Blood, Old Souls" | |
1980s | Eda's curse begins to grow progressively, affecting her in various aspects of her life, such as damaging her relationship with her sister, her parents, and Raine.
