From her proud mentor
Witch's Cloaks are special cloaks created from Witch's Wool, a material capable of repelling powerful spells. Luz is the owner of a Witch's Cloak, a gift created and given to her by Eda.[1][2]
Background[]
Luz is intrigued by something being stirred in Eda's cauldron. Believing it to be some kind of magic spaghetti, she reaches out and tries to touch it, but Eda slaps her hand away with a wooden spoon, and explains that the "spaghetti" is actually called Witch's Wool. It repels powerful spells, and every witch "worth their salt" has a cloak made of it. Luz is amazed by this and wants one, but Eda takes it away from her, stating that she needs a cloak for protection, as the Emperor's Castle has stepped up their attacks lately. A while after, when Eda turns into the Owl Beast again, Luz manages to give her a few bottles of elixir and change her back. Luz realizes that Eda's curse has been getting worse, and swears that she will find a way to cure her. After she leaves for school, Eda decides to knit the cloak for her instead, as she is touched by Luz's kindness.[1]
Later, Luz holds onto the cloak Eda made for her and reads her message written on the attached tag. Right away, she puts on the cloak and declares that she is saving Eda, and succeeds in doing so.[2] Afterwards, Luz can be seen wearing the cloak occasionally when going out on adventures.[3][4][5]
Luz's cloak is damaged when she visits the In Between Realm.[5] Eda takes her and King to the Night Market to buy Witch's Wool to repair it.[6] Unfortunately, the shop owner, Prim, has decided to close her shop and has joined the Oracle Coven. Later on, Eda shortens the length of the cloak to remove the damaged sections and she gives the shortened cloak to King to wear.[7]
